Paddy Flat Claims

Overview

Idaho Gold Mining is offering up several mining claims in the Cascade/McCall region this year called “Paddy Flat” up on the Rapid and Kennally drainages. From just the amazing scenery alone, it is well worth the drive, but then look what others are also recovering from their mining claims (from the “Show me the Gold” tab). While the main road does travel across these drainages, there is a flat gold bearing benches and buffer allowing work on these claims to be more secluded as the creek ranges from 50’ to 200’ from the road (but at a flat terrain). There are ample places to park and camp along all of these roads, many with well established camping spots and others with flatter terrain to cut in camping where needed. I would also note the several hot springs a person can soak in around this area, as well as phenomenal hunting and from the pictures, even good trout fishing in the creeks. These claims are also marked along the road showing the boundaries as you are traveling along the main roads… to show you where each mining claim starts & ends. These claims are fully ready, with excellent existing road access “across” each and every claim to start pulling out some great color…in a historically rich mining district.

Driving Directions

Driving Directions from Boise: Take HWY 55 (from State Street aka HWY 44), north out of Boise towards McCall. You will stay on HWY 55 for approximately 89 miles, which is roughly 19 miles past Cascade (or 3 miles north past Donnelly). You will turn right (east) on Paddy Flat Road. Stay on this road for approximately 9.0 miles (eventually the road name changes to NF 389) to the Paddy Flat Campground. The “Rapid Creek” mining claims, you will head north on the “Rapid Creek Road” (aka NF 389 continued). For the Kennally Creek claims, continue straight past the Paddy Flat Campground on the NF 388, or follow the signs to the Kennally Creek CG (Kennally Creek campground). When you reach the Kennally Creek campground, you are abutting the Kennally Gold mining claim, and ALL of the Kennally mining claims are positioned downstream. Signage is posted clearly identifying the claims along the river side of the roadway for both Rapid Creek and Kennally Creek.
